...a quick visit

...I did not miss yesterday...took this shot but just could not post it until now.  Friday was a busy day and as I stood in the park looking for an interesting subject I looked up and saw this beautiful tree.  Hyde Park has some amazing trees...I think this is a paperbark but I will spend some time over the next couple of weeks researching the trees and trying to get some good shots...enjoy.

...such beautiful bark.

...First Night...

Well all the dramas of moving, Christmas and New Year are behind me.  I am back at work and ready to give 100% of my attention to 365 Hyde Park.
Walking through the park this morning was amazing.  There had been a bit of rain but it had cleared and the sun was shining making the light bounce of the leaves. Everything is so green and fresh.
Below are some photos from First Night.  It was a very surreal experience.  I have been stalking Hyde Park in the early mornings, a time when everything is quiet and peaceful; and to have it transformed into a vaudevillian playground was a bit overwhelming.
After dark, the park became a venue for sensory overload. Lightshow, music, SNOW.  It was bizarre and a little bit crazy.  There were so many people and the excitement of the crowd felt palpable.
